This digital repository includes short biographies of women whose lives were marked by their participation in resistance and anti-regime movements in different places and times: in Greece and Italy during the Second World War, in post-civil war Spain, and in 1980s Poland. The stories are accompanied by a short historical context and illustrated by photographs and archival documents. They were created as part of the WIRE project, aiming to rethink the historical narratives of resistance movements in Europe, and to reshape historical memory and the values associated with it.
