The Greek Elektra Apostolou (1912-1944) is a symbol of the National Resistance both for her contribution to the resistance struggle and for the torturous death she suffered at the age of 32. She was a member of the communist movement since 1926. In the photo she is with her daughter Agni, in exile on the island of Anafi during the Metaxas dictatorship (1939-1942).
