The Greek resistance fighter and artist Maria Ferla Beikou (1925-2011) was a political refugee in Moscow after the end of the Greek Civil War. She worked as an announcer at the Moscow Radio Station for many years. During her time in Moscow, she welcomed many Greek politicians and artists visiting the country.
